Serial explosions rock Upper Assam on Republic Day

A series of seven bomb explosions by suspected ULFA-Independent militants rocked upper Assam’s Sivasagar, Charaideo, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts this morning as the nation celebrated the country’s 68th Republic Day.
 
In Charaideo district, three explosions were triggered by insurgent outfit.
 
In Sivasagar district, two explosions were triggered by the insurgent outfit at Bihubar area near Nazira.
 
This was followed by another blast at Convoy road in Dibrugarh.
 
The seventh one exploded at Tinsukia near Saikhuwa bridge.
 
There was no casualty or injury in any of the explosions, police said.
